About Me

 

As an IT Director with over 15 years of experience, I have successfully led the transformation of a small marketing startup into a multimillion-dollar fintech company with over 80 employees and PCI Level 1 status. I have spearheaded the development of approximately 100 software applications and implemented various technical solutions to enhance business continuity, including strategic data collection and analysis, critical infrastructure development, and large-scale system enhancements.

My technical skills include proficiency in Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), Project Management, Agile Methodologies , Project Management, API’s, Network Infrastructure, Server, Amazon Web services, MySQL database, Windows Server, Jira, Trend Micro, QualysGuard/Shield, Sophos Firewall Management, InContact Studio, Eclipse, GIT, QuickBase, Swagger, Twilio, Send Grid, Visa DPS Plaid , among others.

I have also managed and supervised a team of over 15 IT professionals, including back and front end developers, security experts, database administrators, and support staff, while overseeing all aspects of the marketing department.

Some of my notable achievements include achieving PCI Level 1 status, overseeing the implementation of an in-house customer service department, designing and implementing a fraud mitigation system, creating and maintaining disaster recovery and business continuity plans, and integrating with various outside technology vendors, among many others. I have also designed and implemented several mobile apps and websites, as well as multiple API integrations with leading companies.

Professional Experience

 - Utilized strategic data collection/analysis strategies to drive the development of new and innovative technologies in addition to large-scale system enhancements, critical developments of processes/polices, infrastructure and communications, while focusing on overall business continuity.
- Achieved PCI Level 1 status -the industry’s highest security level standard- working directly with 3rd party assessors and overseeing all corresponding documentation throughout the process and maintained this status for 5+ years through an annual audit process.
- Facilitated all communications between technical teams and executive/management teams in addition to overseeing department meetings consisting of staff leads and managers, to ensure the continuity of information systems support and goal attainment.
- Attended trade shows and spoke at events to represent the company, promote and educate others about new and up-coming technical innovations and advancements.
- Oversaw recruiting and hiring processes for all roles in addition to training IT staff, project managers, engineers, administrators, customer service managers, inventory managers and security teams.
- Supervised a team of over 15 IT professionals including back and front end developers, quality assurance professionals, security, database administrators and information technology support staff.
- Managed and maintained relationships with prospective customers as well as external vendors.
- Forecasted and monitored financial budgets in order to ensure that all technical projects were delivered in a timely manner and remained within designated budget limits.
- Handled all levels of IT security including internal/external audits, file integrity monitoring, intrusion detection systems, vulnerability monitoring, virus protection/firewalls, data retention/restoration, fraud control and monitoring, which drastically reduced onboarding/transactional fraud and prevented major company losses.
- Oversaw the implementation of in-house customer service department, which included IVR, web-based admin portals, multi-level reporting, call recording, email and SMS, switches, firewalls and all other physical hardware required to create an ideal customer experience.

-Led all aspects of the marketing department, which included all online content (Instagram, Facebook, Web, and email campaigns), handled all google AdWords campaigns, SEO, while leveraging Google Analytics to provide insightful data to ensure outreach goals were achieved.
- Responsible for the design, implementation and deliverables for new cardholder websites/mobile apps, which enabled customers to have access to their accounts and tools needed to manage funds in addition to creating an in-house ACH/NACHA engine which allowed direct communication with Federal Banks and settlement processors.
- Led integrations with outside technology vendors such as Twilio, Idology, Visa Ready Link, Jack Henry, Western Union, Money Gram, Visa DPS, Secure Check, Teller Metrix, InContact, USPS IMB, Plaid, Swagger, QuickBase, Valid, Perfect Plastic, Galileo Processing, Metropolitan Commercial Bank and Meta Bank.

Created inhouse Customer Service Portal

Reducing the overhead associated with 3rd party apps, while giving us new functionality and enchaining speed.

Setup and managed Amazon Web Service systems

Which include Ecs, rds, s3, iam , vpc, elastic beanstalk, workspaces, cloudwatch, autoscaling, cloudtrail, elb, sns, sqs, and glacier 

Created Fraud Mitigation System

With this system we greatly reduced cardholder fraud both instore and online.

Designed and Implemented in house call center

Greatly improving customer satisfaction and winning multiple awards for customer service.

Created and maintained Disaster recovery & Business continuity plans

Insightful business plans required for certain levels of audit.

Designed and implemented an inhouse IVR

Reducing monthly expenses by over $20,000 and providing a more streamlined system for the end user.

Created Multiple Mobile Apps

Including Banking/Credit Card Apps, HR Services App, Employee information Apps and many more

Designed and Implemented White label front end

Award winning front end gave multiple companies the ability to cobrand and perform high level banking and security functions, while still be flexible and supporting their needs.

Setup Swagger

This gave our developers and clients the ability to test code and design in a secure environment.

Remote Deposit Capture

Created the first remote deposit option on a prepaid card utilizing Jack Henrys check 21 processing system.

Jira Management

Setup Jira with required rules and functions and trained all required staff and departments

Same day ACH

Utilizing NACHA files we were able to achieve same day ACH way ahead of the competitors

API System

Responsible for the design, security, and documentation for API's that our clients would be able to connect to. Giving the ability to perform multiple functions.

Setup Cash Loading Network

Working with Check Cashiers across the country, we built a system allowing Cardholders to load cash directly to their Credit Card

Managed the MySQL DB

Ensured quality coding and procedures were always used. While maintaining high speed and throughput for the entire system

Created internal MFA

Allowing both staff and cardholders the ability to authenticate via SMS or generated code

First in class Account Shield

Was responsible for documentation and implementation for this function allowing a  prepaid cardholder to temporarily pause transactions on their card

Designed Multiple Websites

This allowed us real time control over credit card use, giving us the ability to create security rules and multiple features while gaining useful insight and analytics

Providing Staff with real time system alerts and Cardholders real time alerts for their transactions and security updates
